If your group (e.g., service club, civic, youth, church, office, agricultural) would like to become involved in a service project on one of our properties, we have plenty of options for you. Whether your group is looking for a one-day or long-term project, Solano Land Trust properties offer projects ideal for your team to develop a sense of community and contribute to local land heritage and preservation.
Following are just a few ideas for your group:
- Join Land Steward Ken Poerner for a workday (see scheduled workdays below)
- Build and install signs
- Build and install picnic tables and trail-side benches
- Build and install bird boxes
- Build trails and remove weeds
- Restore native plants
- Care for ranch animals
- Learn to drive a horse carriage
Examples of successful group projects have included Eagle Scout initiatives, comprising shade awnings, picnic tables and a fire pit at Rush Ranch, and handicapped accessible trails and picnic areas at Lynch Canyon. Although partial funding is sometimes available, these scout groups have generally taken control of the entire project, including design, fundraising and implementation.
